Your privacy matters to us. At Cayu (“Cayu”, “we”, “us”, “our”), we give you meaningful control over your personal data and the business data you entrust to our platform. This Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request deletion of your data and how we handle such requests.

For these Data Deletion Policy, “you” means the individual user, or if you use the Services on behalf of a company, then “you” includes the entity and you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.

  1. What data can you request to delete

You may request deletion of the following categories of data that we maintain on your behalf:

  • Personal contact data (e.g., your name, email, phone number)

  • Business account tokens, Page/Instagram connections, and associated metadata

  • Messaging, conversation and chat records on linked social media channels

  • Customer records, contact lists, and analytics generated within your dashboard

  • Backup or archived data tied to your account (subject to the limitations below)

  1. How to submit a deletion request

To request deletion of your data, please contact us at contact@cayu.ai. Provide:

  • Your account email or business name

  • A clear description of the data you want deleted

  • Confirmation that you are authorised to request deletion for the account

  1. What happens after you submit a request

Once we receive your deletion request:

  • We will send you an acknowledgement within 7 business days.

  • We will process your request and delete the requested data within 30 calendar days, unless otherwise required by law or contract.

  • We will notify you when the deletion is complete.

  • Some limited data may remain anonymised or aggregated in an irreversible form for analytic or regulatory purposes.

  1. Exceptions and retention

In certain cases, we may retain some data even after a deletion request if:

  • We are required to retain it by law (for example, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations).

  • It is needed to investigate or defend legal claims, enforce our Terms of Service or prevent fraud.

  • It is part of anonymised statistical data that does not identify you or your business.
    We will clearly distinguish retained data from active, identifiable data and will restrict access accordingly.

  1. Scope of deletion

The deletion request applies to data within Cayu’s systems. We do not control data retained by social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook) when their APIs or terms of service require them to retain records. We will, however, disconnect tokens, stop ongoing data collection and disable features immediately upon deletion confirmation.

  1. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights:

  • Right to access the data we hold about you

  • Right to object to or restrict processing

  • Right to receive your data in a portable format

  • Right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
